Course Description:

This course addresses the reality that many coaching clients are facing a new kind of anxiety: Eco Anxiety. As temperatures rise, news of climate catastrophes increases, and environmental protections are stripped away, it’s increasingly common for clients to experience the existential dread and anxiety that comes along with confronting the reality that our planet is changing quickly.

Coaches have a unique ability to help people navigate this reality. As experts in the process of visioning, goal setting, action planning, habit forming, and providing accountability, we have the power to help individuals create sustainable changes and transform anxiety into action. The collective action of individuals has inspired movements across the globe; Empowering individuals to understand that their action can have a positive impact on their families, communities, and the world can inspire hope for a better future and create a community of activists who are taking care of themselves and the planet.

Throughout this course, we’ll explore your environmental values, talk about transforming anxiety into action, discuss mistakes in behavior change related to eco anxiety, examine the bigger picture of climate change and its impact on marginalized communities, discuss the 6 R’s of low impact living, conduct a trash audit, and take a look at 12 key areas in which we can all make small changes that can have a massive impact.
